As the golden hues of September begin to paint the world in their rich, warm tones, I’m thrilled to share with you the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in our stitching journey. After a year of stitching through the seasons with our Calendar Stitch-along, we’re stepping into a brand-new series that embraces the essence of fall with a fresh and cozy perspective. Let’s dive into the heart of this new series and discover the beauty and meaning behind our pattern for September: “Grow.”
Welcoming a New Series
With the arrival of September, we bid farewell to our year-long Calendar Stitch-along and usher in a new series that celebrates the changing seasons with a delightful, coordinated set of patterns. This series features four enchanting designs, each capturing the spirit of fall with its own unique charm. These patterns can be stitched individually or together as a cohesive project, making them versatile additions to your stitching repertoire. For the sample, I’ve stitched them on 18-count white Anne cloth over 1 square, and plan to finish the series as a Bell Pull. Each pattern will adorn one panel of a 1 x 4 square banner, creating a beautiful, integrated display of autumnal joy.
Introducing “Grow”: A Pattern for the Season of Change
Our September pattern, “Grow,” is a heartfelt tribute to the season of transformation and growth. As the warmth of summer gently yields to the cooler embrace of fall, September stands as a testament to the remarkable changes that unfold around us. The “Grow” pattern is a celebration of this time of transition, featuring a square filled with vibrant fall Mums and the word “Grow” gracefully surrounded by delicate green vines adorned with tiny, colorful fall flowers and berries.
The choice of the word “Grow” resonates deeply with me, as September has always symbolized a time of significant development and change. It’s a month when children return to school, seemingly having sprouted a few extra inches over the summer, and the natural world transitions from the peak of the growing season to a time of reflection. This pattern encapsulates the spirit of this season perfectly, inviting you to stitch and savor the beauty of growth and renewal.
A Cozy Fall Experience: Crafting and Reflection
As you embark on stitching the “Grow” pattern, I hope you’ll find comfort and joy in every stitch. The process of creating this pattern is not just about completing a project but about immersing yourself in the cozy, comforting essence of fall. Picture yourself wrapped in a warm blanket, a steaming cup of cider by your side, as you add each stitch to this beautiful design. The fall Mums, with their vibrant colors and intricate details, serve as a reminder of the beauty and richness of this season.
The Beauty of Coordinated Patterns: A Unified Display
This series is designed to be stitched as a set, creating a harmonious and visually stunning display. Each pattern complements the others, capturing different facets of fall’s beauty while maintaining a cohesive theme. Imagine the joy of seeing all four patterns come together, each contributing to a larger, cohesive autumnal tapestry. Whether you choose to stitch them individually or as a complete banner, these patterns promise to bring a touch of fall’s magic into your home.
A Personal Touch: My Love for Fall and Stitching
For me, September and the fall season hold a special place in my heart. Growing up, the arrival of fall always felt like a time of new beginnings and reflection. Now, as I share this new series with you, I’m reminded of the simple pleasures that fall brings—crisp air, the scent of wood smoke, and the vibrant colors of the changing leaves. I’m excited for you to join me in this cozy journey, stitching your way through fall and celebrating the beauty and growth of the season.
Thank you for being a part of this creative community and for sharing in the joy of stitching. I can’t wait to see how you bring the “Grow” pattern to life and how it will fit into your own fall celebrations. Here’s to a season of warmth, creativity, and growth!
Happy Stitching,
Jeannie
Thyme for Stitching
Hi Jeannie,
Thank you so much for sending your Newsletter and Paterns each month!
I received the Sept 2024 GROW newsletter and pattern. would it be possible for you to send a link for the border pattern?
Thanks so much!
Hi Leanne, I’m so glad you received the newsletter and pattern. This series doesn’t have a border for it. It’s designed to be part of a Bell Pull with a series of 4 panels. You could of course stitch each months pattern individually and finish them separately with a frame or finished in a pillow but there isn’t a border the surrounds all four parts.
