Welcome to our Yearly Stitch-Along, where each month brings a new and exciting free pattern, exclusively released in our newsletter. If you haven’t joined the fun yet, now is the perfect time to dive in and explore the world of stitches with us!
What is the Yearly Stitch-Along?
The Yearly Stitch-Along is our way of celebrating the joy of cross-stitching together. Every month, we release a unique and free cross-stitch pattern as part of our newsletter. These patterns are carefully designed to capture the essence of the season, spark creativity, and create a shared stitching experience for our community.
This stitch-along runs from September 2023 through August 2024.
Did you miss a pattern?
If you’ve just subscribed and still want to join the stitch-along, the patterns from previous months will be available in my Etsy store. Alternatively, you can always stitch the patterns individually or in any combination you prefer. Perhaps just frame the January, February and March patterns to create a simple winter trio. I’ve put together a list of possible finishing ideas for stitching the patterns individually below.
How to Join the Adventure:
- Subscribe to Our Newsletter: To access the free patterns, make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter. Each month, we’ll deliver the pattern directly to your inbox, ensuring you’re among the first to embark on the stitching adventure.
- Stitch, and Share: Once you receive the newsletter, print out the free pattern, or use the pattern digitally. Gather your supplies, and start stitching! We encourage you to share your progress on our Thyme for Stitching Facebook group. It’s a fantastic way to connect with fellow stitchers, inspire others, and be inspired by the diverse interpretations of the same pattern.
Making it all come together:
I’m excited to release the free border for our first yearly stitch-along. Download the pattern for the border using the button below and start adding the free monthly patterns to create a beautiful 12-part design that could be framed, stitched into a quilt, or turned into a stunning wall hanging. The finishing options are endless and I would love to see what you do with your finished design!
If you don’t want to combine the patterns for a larger year-long project, feel free to finish the individual patterns in any way you would like. Some suggestions to get you thinking are:
- A set of monthly themed pillows
- Frame each one individually and hang them in a pattern on the wall.
- Use the patterns in gift cards, they measure approximately 4×4 inches so they would make a beautiful square card.
- Frame them in sets of three, one set per season. You could do January, February and March for Winter, April, May, and June for Spring etc.
- A set of ornaments or wall hangings
- Create unique projects with any of the patterns that capture your imagination, they would work well on a project bag, an ornament, a wall hanging, or sewn into a journal covering. The possibilities are endless.
