December has arrived here in Eastern Ontario with soft, swirling snow and that quiet hush that settles over the pines on mornings like this. It’s the kind of peaceful quiet that makes you want to curl up with a warm mug and your stitching basket close at hand. It feels like the perfect backdrop for what is, truly, a very special and exciting moment for our little Thyme for Stitching community.
Because this month… we finish a yearlong journey together.
And we begin two brand-new ones.
Let’s cozy in and unwrap everything December has stitched up for us.
The Patchwork Stitches Finale: The Entwined Star Block
It’s here — the twelfth and final piece of our Patchwork Stitches SAL. I can hardly believe we’ve reached this moment together! When we started last January, I was so excited to share the first block with you and see the pattern unfold and share that adventure with you month by month! I truly want to thank you for all your enthusiasm, notes of encouragement and kind words over the last year. It staggers me to believe that anyone at all is interested in sharing and stitching my patterns with me and I am so filled with gratitude with every month I get to continue this journey!
This month’s block, the Entwined Star, is so fitting for the holiday season. Stars have long been symbols of guidance, memory, and connection — and this particular block has deep roots in traditional quilting. It’s often associated with community quilts and memory quilts, the kind stitched with love to celebrate families, milestones, and the beautiful patterns our lives make over time.
When you look at the intertwining shapes, you can almost see how stories weave together, just like the stories we’ve built through this stitch-along.

A New Adventure Begins December 8th: Threads of Christmas Stitch-a-Story
Now… let’s talk about something I am bursting to share with you.
On December 8th, something truly special is landing in my Etsy shop:
Threads of Christmas — a brand-new Stitch-a-Story experience.
And yes, “experience” is exactly the right word, because this is so much more than a stitch-along.
Each part of this pattern arrives wrapped in its own little chapter, a cozy, heartfelt story that grows with every stitch you place. It’s filled with memory, tradition, winter magic, and the kind of quiet wonder that only Christmas can hold.
And along with the pattern and story, each release comes with:
✨ beautifully designed printables
✨ activities to spark joy and reflection
✨ gentle prompts and little festive extras
✨ tips to help you savour the season while you stitch
It is my most Christmas-filled, heart-wrapped project to date, and I can’t wait to spend December stitching in the glow of holiday lights with you.
Coming January 2026: Stitch the Sea — Our Next Yearlong Stitch-a-Story
And as if one magical journey wasn’t enough…
January brings us something entirely new and extraordinary.
Our next newsletter-exclusive SAL — Stitch the Sea — sets sail right at the start of the new year. And this is another full Stitch-a-Story, designed to unfold slowly and beautifully month by month.
Think:
🌊 a tale that drifts like a message in a bottle
🌊 gentle, emotional storytelling infused with memory and tide
🌊 an evolving pattern full of soft curves, shells, waves, compass stars, and quiet wonder
🌊 little surprises and sensory treats tucked along the way
This month’s newsletter includes the materials list, so you’ll have plenty of time to gather your fabric and floss. Next month, January’s issue brings the first part of the pattern and the opening chapter of the story.
And the best part?
If you’re subscribed to the newsletter, you’re already in.
No sign-up. No purchase. Just pure stitching joy.
I’m so excited to begin this new yearlong journey with you.
A December Wrapped in Love, Light & Stitches

✨ creativity

Thank you — truly — for being part of this stitching family.
I hope this month brings you warm moments, new memories, and plenty of time to settle in with your favourite project.
