October has arrived with it’s cool and sometimes down-right chilly days and evenings. Gardens are being tidied up and final canning and storing for winter is wrapping up. The leaves are beautiful colours in our part of the world and fireplaces and wood stoves are starting to produce those whisps of smoke curling through the air.
This month our free monthly pattern is in keeping with the traditions of October. A whimsical little pumpkin just waiting to be turned into a Thanksgiving pie (October is the month of Thanksgiving here in Canada) or a fun Jack-O-Lantern. This sweet little pumpkin is surrounded by waving wheat, a symbol of harvest, gratitude, wealth and abundance! This pattern can be combined with previous months patterns as well as the upcoming patterns to create a larger masterpiece. Or you can stitch it on it’s own and frame it, add it to a pillow or finish it any other way you would like. Your imagination is the limit.
